Episode 6: Obscurum

As The Legacy sat in the secret chamber, there was silence in the room; how did Shiva know Dorion? Dorion questioned her once more however, she continued to explain how she was unsure of her knowledge of his life. The members of the Legacy felt that Shiva was telling the truth and that Dorion should trust her. Shiva thanked them and as she stood up the room was filled with a brief light as her magick had a sudden outburst. As the group stood with each other they witnessed a woman being stabbed to death in a snowy battle of some sort. When Shiva questioned the vision, she felt that it may have to do with the memories she could not remember. Dorion suggested that they get going to Haukke Manor to see why Hydaelyn was sending them there in the first place. As they headed to leave Fairytail, the group was rejoined with Melo as he woke up from resting. Dorion explained the situation to Melo and he decided that he too would follow the group.


The trip to Gridania was no easy task for the Legacy. During the Calamity, the area once known as New Gridania was a ghost town. Shrubs were overgrown all over leaving just the waterways in and out of the city viewable. Shiva felt sad by the sight and vowed that someday they would restore the lands here. Finally, The Legacy reached a boat that would take them as close as they could get to Haukke Manor. Dorion was still hesitant on the matter however, his silent friend Zakuro felt otherwise. She seemed eager to travel and Dorion was unsure why. The Legacy finally boarded a ship and carefully traveled through the waterway leading to Central Shroud.


Upon entering the shrouds...the woods were silent and eerie to The Legacy. The air was tense and a dark aura hung over the woods. The common creatures that once roamed these lands seemed scarce. The more the group traveled the darker their world felt. The Red Veil did a number on this world and it was becoming more of a prominent scene. Trunks loaded his weapon and shared with the group that in weather like this it's best to keep closer together. Shiva agreed and sat on the back of his bike for the time being. As Dorion described the "vine" the group needed to climb to get to Haukke Manor, Shiva questioned Dorion's understanding of common plants.


The group made it to the top of the large tree and took a moment to rest. The journey was long however, they refused to give up. For a moment they spoke among themselves on moments from their pasts and how they used to travel from time to time. Shiva tried to recall memories however, she struggled to understand her past. Dorion suggested that maybe they would find the answers at Haukke as it wasn't too far away.


As everyone stretched and gathered themselves once more, Zakuro seemed much more eager to get to the manor. Dorion was confused as to why so he took a moment to talk to her alone. She feverishly wrote in her notebook telling him that she could feel something telling her to get there. Dorion calmed the woman saying they needed to take their time still as he knew The Red Veil often visited these lands. The Silent Au Ra nodded but continued to gesture in the direction of the manor. Dorion chuckled a bit and told everyone they would need to make haste as it seemed Zakuro sensed something.


The gates of Haukke Manor remained open which surprised the group. The manor had a blue-like glow over its rooftop giving many of the members the creeps. Shiva and Zakuro seemed most curious by the building and began to walk ahead faster. Dorion reminded the group one more time that they would need to be on their feet in case of any evaders. Dean, Tuya, Melo, and Trunks agreed and held onto their weapons as they made their way up to the manor's courtyard.


Shiva began to wander the courtyard as if she was looking for something and Zakuro eagerly followed behind her. The two definitely sensed something and worked together to pinpoint the aura they were both feeling. Shiva found herself climbing into the Haukke Fountain as her hands dove down into the water. She began to pull at the overgrown vines and it seemed like a large item was concealed in this water. Shiva pulled out a large sword with a purple and red hue. Shiva explained that Hydaelyn hid this here for Zakuro as she held the Obscurum, a blade created by The Goddess Hydaelyn herself so that Zakuro would be one of the many members to fight against the darkness.


Upon retrieving the weapon a monster appeared angered by the taking of the Obscurum. A black horse with red wings appeared before them. Both Dean and Dorion stood in shock as this was once known as a Legendary creature. A Nightmare Pegasus stood before them and it seems that the creature was the guardian of the weapon. They knew in order to keep Zakuro's weapon they would have to do their best and fight off the creature. Tuya and Melo lead the attack against the creature causing the rest of The Legacy to spring into action.


Melo struck the pegasus with full force bringing great damage to the beginning of their battle with the creature. Both Tuya and Zakuro seemed to skate between each other battling it as best as they could. With Zakuro's new weapon it seemed obvious that this weapon was meant for her as she too took critical blows to the creature. Trunks continued to battle from the sides as he fired bullets into the creature however during the battle one of the bullets struck the creature causing it to get angry as it attacked Dean thinking he hurt him. Shiva and Dorion rushed to Dean's aid to try and help him.


The battle soon came to an end and as the pegasus was defeated, a blast of air shot across the room to The Legacy. The air put them in a dream-like state causing them all to witness an echo from the past. A young Dorion was seen running through Haukke Manor in a panic fighting the creatures inside. He was struck with a critical attack and was left injured. Dorion had used up much of his magick in this fight and he tried to crawl for help. It seems that a white mage was dispatched to help him and a young woman named Selene tried to aid Dorion. Selene began to heal Dorion and told him to hold on as she got him out of the manor. The group suddenly had a vision of Selene being stabbed to death in Snowcloak by Dorion's father where she seemed to die. A light covered Selene's body and Hydaelyn spoke to the dying girl. She told her that she would resurrect her as the vessel to Saint Shiva as "Eorzea was not yet done with her." When the group came to Shiva looked surprised to learn she was Selene. However, it was soon interrupted by an intruder...the woman they saved earlier, Sasha.


Sasha chuckled knowing she had betrayed The Legacy revealing that she worked for The Red Veil. Dorion was confused as to how he could not tell sooner as he mentioned their meeting in Western Thanalan. He used his magick to compel her to tell the truth about who she was but she said it was all part of her training from Eden. She had learned many ways to overpower Dorion and the others and she was waiting for the right moment to strike. She felt that this was her time and that she and the Red Veil needed Shiva to destroy them. Sasha also let them know she was one of four members of the four horsewomen sent to Eorzea to destroy the world. Before they could strike Sasha, she took Shiva and vanished into thin air leaving the group angry and unsure of what to do next.


Dorion and the others were in shock of losing Shiva to Sasha and vowed to get her back. As angry as they were to lose her here, Dean suggested that they go back to Fairytail and try to regroup. They head to Dorion's personal chamber where he had a map of Eorzea on his coffee table. He told the group that this room served as a war room to the Luminara Family and so he had made it his personal chamber so he could research the best ways to kill The Red Veil. Dean and Dorion looked over the map as the two of them often were here and knew of many of the hideouts for the Red Veil. Dean suggested that they look at the Hinderlands as he had heard many rumors about the lands being the Red Veil's new choice of hiding. As the group discussed their options on travel a surge of energy came through Trunks' body as he collapsed to the ground.


Dorion rushed over to his friend in concern as he tried to help him off of the ground. Trunks continued to clutch his chest explaining he felt this sudden energy flowing through him and that he could hear Hydaelyn's voice. She was telling him that they needed to move there fast and he was unsure why. Dorion looked to the rest of the group knowing it would not be an easy task getting there. What lied in the Hinderlands for The Legacy?
