Episode 38: Journey to Zenith

Morning came and The Legacy began a new day. It was quiet in the halls of Fairytail...Dorion sat on at the bar with a black flask in his hand. Although Dorion had been out of touch since the battle with Ifrit he seemed to be working on improving his health and physical state. Even though he still had his occasional drink, his body was looking leaner and more fit as he trained. Dorion was serious about taking out death and getting himself was one way to make it happen. As Dorion sat drinking from his special flask, Ruby came from the personal chambers to join him for a drink. The two caught up on matters as they were to become family in future months when K’enion came from her chamber as well.

Dorion and Ruby welcome K’enion to the main hall as they offer her a meal from the kitchen. K’enion declines for the moment as she is not hungry just yet. The three watch as the chambers open once again allowing Trunks to come from his chamber as well. Trunks carefully greats the group as Dorion and Ruby make eye contact; the two know that he had finally made love with his fiancé. Trunks was shy to know that Dorion and the others knew so soon so he did his best to try and deny the action happening. As Trunks tried to deny the act, Ruby points out that Zena’s room is fairly close and the two of them heard everything. Trunks shuffled in his chair in embarrassment but, he knew that the group only did it out of love.

Dorion even mentioned to Trunks that he was happy for the two of them. From their first meeting Dorion could sense the connection between the two of them and as time went on it became harder to not see the two of them together. They were the perfect balance for each other so for them to share such a step in their relationship was so special. Trunks thanked everyone for their kind words but, reminded the group that Shiva was modest (unlike the Saint within her) to keep their words calmer with her because she was very shy about their activities as well.


Coming from the upper floor, Jayne made her way down the stairs and into the arms of her fiancé. Dorion held his future wife close as she checked in with K’enion. The two spoke about K’enion’s new living accommodations and hope that the home was to her liking. K’enion admits that it was different than the caves in Corethas but, she was thankful for Jayne’s arrangement of her room. The group decides to also share with Jayne the recent developments of Shiva and Trunks which brings a bit of laughter to Jayne’s stern face. Noticing her mannerisms Dorion questions if Jayne was alright.

Jayne mentions She and Jai worked all evening with Ljrn to look for locations for the items that she needed for her weapon, so Jai left later than normal, and she had spent most of the night continuing scouting for areas where Lady Death was hiding.  Although she had no leads on her whereabouts currently, she was able to confirm more information regarding K’enion’s weapon in Zenith. What made the task hard was that only certain dragons knew where the weapon was so it would be a matter of traveling to Zenith and speaking to all of the dragons. However, due to the war on Eorzea by Lady Death, a lot of creatures went into hiding to involve being caught in conflict.

Dorion understood why many of the creatures would be against the fighting in the first place but, a lot of them still felt hurt by The Dragonsong Wars that it would make sense why they would want to avoid any future incidents with the people of Hydaelyn. K’enion expresses that she worries that she will not be accepted by the weapon which Trunks shoots the idea down immediately. Trunks reminds K’enion that he has had his fair share of issues and if he could receive one then there was no need for K’enion to worry as well. Ruby reminds K’enion that since she lost her weapon she was still willing to do all she could for the group and that Anthi still needed to get her weapon as well so it would be a matter of time for the two of them.



Dorion and Jayne spoke among each other mentioning that the most recent situation in Corethas didn’t help the dragons so Dorion wondered if their efforts would be a prolonged process in Zenith. The group falls silent for a moment and it was as if a thought entered all of their minds if there was one other person besides K’enion that could talk to the dragons, it was Shiva. Ruby asks if Shiva would even be up for such a task to which Jayne said that she would be ready.

Jayne smiles and said as she came down the stairs, she could feel the presence of Saint Shiva which only met that the young woman they knew was not hosting the body at the moment. Being new to the group K’enion asked how they would even summon her out of the body and Dorion began to explain that it didn’t take much for the Saint to make her presence known; in fact, Dorion explained to K’enion was that her presence came so often he wondered how much in the subconscious did Saint Shiva really know? Jayne decides to go down the hall to get Shiva while Trunks watches on wondering how the Saint felt about their evening before; the group watched on curiously as well.



As the door to the personal chambers swung open the group saw the Saint stand before them. Dorion smiled kindly at the Saint as she reminded him of the past. Normally, when the primal came before them she would be donned in her primal wear but this time she came before them in the outfit they met young Shiva in. She wore her Dravanian dress and fur clothes, and colorful beads hung from her neck. Dorion questioned why she wasn’t in her normal state to which she responded she was doing it for her host’s sake.

Saint Shiva said that her host body had been through so much in the evening that “Selene” needed her rest, and she was willing to front as long as she could. Generally summoning her full form would only weaken the host body but, she knew if they were traveling to Zenith, they would need her. She knew she could go to the area and just use her voice but, it had been so long since she went to Dravania, and she wanted to see the area for herself. Saint also mentioned she had some ideas of where the dragons were hiding and who they could speak to.  



The Legacy began to ask Saint Shiva if she would be up for a fight so soon. Saint was happy to know that they were worried about her but, she assured them that she had felt better than ever. Since her time of rest of Corethas, she was able to recharge. While the group was away battling the dragons, Saint Shiva admitted that she had snuck off to Snowcloak to gather some things to recharge. Trunks asks Saint again if she would be fine to which she teases and reminds him that he gave her quite the evening before that if she could handle what they did, traveling to Zenith would be easy as well.

Before heading out Dorion suggests that they prepare themselves for the road ahead because they didn’t know what they would be up against. Ruby decides to change into more proper gear and wanted to let Zena know where she was going before, they went on their travels. Dorion also did the same with his lovers’ leaving K’enion and Saint Shiva to get to know each other before heading out. K’enion mentions to Shiva that she thinks that their blunt personalities would be a good match and lead to an amazing friendship. Saint agrees and mentions that it also helps that she is the kind of person she would align herself with. The group finally meets back up and left Fairytail for Corethas.



During the journey to Dravania Saint Shiva sat close to Trunks as she held his hand and got to know some of the others more while Dorion lead Azul’s carriage. Saint Shiva admits it had been some years since she had been to these parts but, she was happy to return to the lands she once knew. She recalled times she spent there whereas Dorion remembered something from his past as well. Dorion mentions that the last time they were in the Dravanian Lands, Leric has made his presence known. Dorion also recalls the last time they were here with Tarno, Zakuro, and Tuya.

Ruby notices the shift in Trunks' eyes and asks if there was history with the names that he mentioned. Dorion decides not to dive too into it but tells Ruby again that they were strong fighters and had unique fighting styles of their own. Saint Shiva recalls that Shiva was very close to Tuya and that as much as she didn’t say it, she missed her a lot. Unfortunately, the group was on different terms at the time of their leaving, and they decided to forge a path of their own. Ruby decides to not press on the topic further, so Saint Shiva decides to change the subject.


Saint Shiva reassures K’enion that the journey would be fine, and she will do all that she can to keep her safe. K’enion admits that she hasn’t had someone say that to her in a long time, but she offered the same to the others as they traveled. Ruby always admired how the group looked out for each other, but she never understood how everyone came to be together. Dorion mentions how way back then when he is Jayne were forming their army Jayne was friends with a woman named E'ra. She was a warrior of light...like Jayne and had the strongest connection to Hydaelyn that Dorion saw. She often saw visions or knew where to go, and she sought out to find each member of The Legacy. Dorion mentioned that once she met their group, she had gathered them at the church in East Thanalan and the first action they learned was about Shiva and how she would be a key factor in the fight against Death. Saint Shiva was the only primal that could not be controlled or swayed by Death because Saint Shiva had a connection to Hydaelyn with Selene. Soon the group sought out to find Shiva and the rest was history.



Trunks mentions to Ruby and K’enion that he joined the group with Death’s influence but now he fought equally beside the rest of the group. As they got deeper into Zenith Saint Shiva began to guide Dorion to an area she thought would be best to go to. Upon arrival to the area, Shiva began to chant a spell and sing a tune as they walked. Saint Shiva led the group to the majestic fortress that was once home to a great Wyrm; Dorion began to wonder if he was still the owner of this land. As Shiva continued her tune a loud roar filled the air and K’enion’s eyes lit up with joy.


The Legacy felt the winds pick up around them and a large Wyrm came down from the skies. Before noticing the other Legacy members, Saint Shiva and Hraesvalgr lock eyes for the first time in many years. At first K’enion seemed nervous and a bit scared but, the group learned that he was her uncle. Surprised by the news they heard; K’enion admitted to the group that she came from a line of dragons and was a descendant of Nidhogg himself. She knew Hraesvalgr as her uncle. The dragon smiles at K’enion and admires how much she has grown while some of the other Legacy members were still trying to process the news of being in the presence of a great wyrm as he.

Ruby looks to Trunks who was sweating by the wyrm’s presence; she wondered if he knew about the relationship with the host of the Saint. For now, he stayed silent and watched as the group spoke to him. Hraesvalgr asks the group why they have come to his lands. Dorion decides to speak as the Leader of The Legacy and shares their recent trials with Lady Death; he mentions that they have come here seeking information about primals and a weapon that was blessed on behalf of Hydaelyn.

Shiva mentions to Hraesvalgr upon meeting K’enion she automatically felt a connection to the young female and could sense that she came from the family. She wanted to do all she could to see that K’enion would be trained properly and also protected from people like death. Hraesvalgr was happy to hear Saint Shiva say such things and he looked to K’enion with joy that she was able to meet such a group.


K’enion tells Hraesvalgr that she will do her best to protect them as well. He agrees with K’enion and knows that the real reason she was here was to gain her weapon. K’enion admits it was her main reason for her return to the lands and she wanted to know all she could to prepare for the moment. Hraesvalgr lets her know that the weapon is in Zenith but, it is guarded by someone who felt that she was undeserving of such a weapon. The creature in possession of the weapon felt that K’enion was unworthy because she wasn’t fully a dragon. Saint Shiva reminds K’enion that it wasn’t something that she should be ashamed of. Ruby decides to step in and ask if K’enion receives help during her trial to which the wyrm feels that it is okay for The Legacy to help her.

Concerned K’enion asks if another dragon holds the weapon and Hraesvalgr does at least let her know that it was held by one. K’enion hesitates on killing more of their kind but, in order for K’enion to prove herself it was the only way the weapon would come to her. Hraesvalgr reminds K’enion that if she continued to act the way she did that no other dragon would ever respect her and she had to prove her worth even as a half-breed. Hearing such words inspired Ruby to speak on her behalf and she reminded K’enion that she too was a half-breed and she worked hard every day to prove everyone wrong.


It was settled that K’enion would face the other dragon that felt she was not worthy of her weapon. Saint Shiva walks over and places a gentle hug onto Hraesvalgr for giving them such information. Shiva speaks in his language so the others would not be able to understand what he was saying. She tells Hraesvalgr that her heart remains with him but, the woman who she possessed was in love and to be married to the Miqote Male. She tells him that as one soul, she understands the love her host has for the man and shares an equal bond with him. Hraesvalgr takes note of Saint Shiva’s word and decides that he would like to speak with the man before the others head to fight. Saint Shiva asks if the group can give Trunks and Hraesvalgr a moment.



At first, Trunks seemed hesitant of such a conversation but he knew it had to be done. Trunks approached the dragon with caution but decided to listen as what he had to say was most likely important. The dragon shares with Trunks that he needed to treat Shiva with respect and to protect her with everything he had. Hraesvalgr still loved Saint Shiva and although she was no longer in the physical form with him, he knew that her spirit was still around and that someday in the afterlife the two would be reunited again. Trunks promises the great wyrm that he would do all he could to continue to make that reality possible and that Shiva would be safe with him. The great wyrm smiles and gives Trunks his blessing and tells him to hurry along and be with the others.

The Legacy traveled to the area that Saint Shiva was given and the group was automatically faced with a dragon. The group came across Tioman. To many Ishgardians, Tioman was known to be a very dark dragon that was very close to Nidhogg himself. For many years she protected his home and anything associated with him. Tioman saw the group as a threat and told them that if K’enion were to possess such a weapon she would be willing to fight them to the death for such a piece. Dorion turned to the group and told them to unsheathe their weapons and be ready for a fight.


Dorion lead the fight by taking a hit from Tioman giving the group a chance to stand up and fight. With Tioman distracted by Dorion, Ruby leapt forward and slammed her sword down onto the ground to create a black and red haze around them, this would give the group a chance to fight harder against the dragon. K’enion decided to try and fight Tioman but was struck down instantly as well. Tioman mocked K’enion for being a half-breed that didn’t know how to fight at all. She questioned if K’enion was capable of holding such a weapon which seems to discourage her a bit.

Bothered by such words Saint Shiva rose to the sky to only be struck down by Tioman as well. Tioman was instantly bothered by the presence of Saint Shiva as she always felt that she was a whore and the reason for such wars to break out in the first place. Tioman was triggered by the sight of Shiva and took her anger out on Trunks and Dorion who tried to protect each other in the rage. Seeing the men in a tight spot Ruby decided to do all she could once more.

Ruby began to channel more of her voidal energy into her hand and smiled as she shoved it into her body. Her eyes turned a bright red Ruby spun around once and her blade extended towards Tioman with a large slash.  With Ruby on the attack, K’enion decided to try and face Tioman again. The Dragon took a swipe knocking the wind out of K'enion striking her hard in the ribs. The dragon continued to call her weak and remind her that there were others that were properly trained and since she never stayed in Dravania, Tioman felt she would never be good enough to fight her.


Saint Shiva was bothered by the dragon's words to K'enion and it made the blood in her body boil. her made the blood in Saint boil. Shiva shouted to K’enion to not take was Tioman said to her. As Saint Shiva raised a barrier around the group keeping them safe and using their aether to send shards of ice flying to the dragon. As Shiva rushed into the battle Dorion could feel a sudden urge to fight. Dorion grabbed a hold of his weapon and gripped it tightly. Dorion looked to the sky and then began to channel the aether from the umbral static that surrounded them. Dorion let out a growl from within his chest...something demonic sounding...something the group hadn't heard before. With one movement Dorion sent lightning towards the dragon with his fangs bared; to the group, his fangs seemed a bit longer than normal. Was Dorion tapping into a new form of magick?

With Dorion on the move, Ruby decided to follow suit with a few moves of her own. Watching the others take their chances K’enion did all she could to rise to her feet once more. K’enion charged forward with her lance to only feel her rib crack once again with a tail blow from Tioman. Tioman’s intentions were to leave K’enion broken. Seeing K’enion hurt once more lead Shiva into the fight once again. Shiva swung to the side of the dragon and hopped on one of the wings ready to cut it open with her staff but, the dragon swung at Shiva bashing her in the stomach and sending her flying into the rocks. Seeing his fiancé fly in the air Trunks began to fire a series of bullets as she rushed over to check on her.


As the battle continued Dorion began to feel different as if he was in full beast mode and rage. As he continues to power up the dragon took the opportunity to hit him with her tail causing a gash to be created on Dorion’s back. He falls to his knees in pain, but it looked like the injury alone was charging himself for something else. With Dorion down, Shiva lets out a call to the sky and draws from her aether once more. The primal sheds her dress and appears before the dragon with her sacred gear. Shiva calls upon her power and draws aether from the enemy. With Shiva in primal form, Trunks takes a moment to load up his rifle and hit Tioman with a barrel of rounds and impaling her left eye. The dragon cries out in pain.


Dorion still on his knees began to grow a bit angry from the attack from Tioman. The blood on his back began to disappear and the sound of his back began to crack. Bursting from his back...black raven-like wings came out and this time Dorion growled once again. It sounds deeper than before as Dorion flew forward ripping out the eye that Trunks shot at blinding Tioman in one eye. Dorion was in full attack mode. With Dorion on the attack, Ruby made her sword vanish from her hand. She held out both arms to gather up her aether. As soon as she found the energy she needed, Ruby clapped her hands together, sending out a massive shockwave. The attack destabilized the air around them and created an electric charge before suddenly crashing back into place, slamming hard into the dragon.   Ruby takes a deep breath and opened her eyes right as another implosion happened, this time creating an opening in space itself and pulling hard on the dragon, ripping scales off by the second.

With Ruby attacking, Trunks took a smoke from his case and lit it. Trunks lifted some powder and sprinkled it in the tobacco taking a huge puff. All at once, he flew into a rage and in the blink of an eye, throwing haymaker after haymaker gut-punching the dragon, sending Tioman off her feet and halfway into the black whole Ruby created. Following Trunks, Dorion continued to rage against Tioman, this time now tearing one of the wings from her back. Dorion uses his staff to send shocks of electricity through its body. - "You will keep your hands off of K'enion!" Dorion yelled.

K’enion was finally feeling the momentum and began to get some hits in so the remaining members of The Legacy decided to help her get some moves in. Ruby smiled as she ran up and grabbed the dragon by the throat. Ruby slammed the dragon's face into the ground and stomped hard on its nose.  Shiva rushed in creating a barrier around the field so K’enion would have the advantage. As K’enion’s energy began to grow the group decided to give their aether to her for the moment.


K'enion huffed a bit standing up twisting herself a bit as she cracked her back a bit. Both of her eyes glow red as she set herself a bit a loud deep roar came from her as she grits her teeth two wings soon sprout from her back dragon-like in nature almost like her uncle as she flew into the air. K’enion found herself launching towards the beat and grabbing it by the head with one arm glaring at her for a moment lifting her and slamming her into the ground a few times before shoving her lance deep through her head lodging it there before tossing it towards where the tear was or at least once was, slowly looking back towards the group wing flapping a bit as she growled low eyes glowing as she roared loudly cracking the ground beneath her.

Saint Shiva walked over to K’enion and told her that although the battle was hard for her she proved herself to the group that she could fight alongside them. With the proper amount of training every day she would be ready to face anything that stood in their way. Saint Shiva kindly placed her hand on K’enion as she channeled her magick to flow through her. Saint Shiva helped K’enion feel through the remains of Tioman to get her weapon. Almost instantly K’enion saw the weapon and ran towards it.


K’enion lift a dark flaming weapon to the group which had everyone gasp. Did K’enion possess the element of darkness and fire? Saint Shiva felt that it wasn’t what they assumed but what Saint Shiva called it as a draconic fire. Dorion agreed that what Saint Shiva said was the words they should use. As Saint Shiva spoke, she suddenly swayed allowing her human host to come forward. At first, Shiva looks confused but sees that the group was able to get K’enion her weapon. The group was happy to see Shiva as well and decided to congratulate her also on her evening with Trunks. Ruby felt that it was the perfect time to tease Shiva for being so loud which left the young girl to blush and beg for forgiveness.


As the group found humor at the moment, it was short-lived as Zena called into everyone’s linkpearls. Ruby quickly answered her fiancé and asked what was wrong. Zena and Yue let The Legacy know that they were in the shrouds when tension filled the air. Jayne also chimed in saying she was with Jai and Leric and they found survivors saying a creature looking like Odin appeared before them calling Dorion’s name. Dorion knew why the primal decided to search for The Legacy so it was time for The Legacy to move on and face the final primal standing in their way.
