Episode 25: All Hail The King

It had been a few days and The Legacy was settling into their shelter in Mor Dhona. Each member would take turns at the watch to make sure they were not spotted by Red Veil members. This brought concern onto Dorion, so he had Zena and Jai go look in the lands around the tower without being seen. Upon their observations, there were no members in sight which concerned them further. Jai suggested that they may have been hidden with Eden behind the walls of The Tower. After hearing this news from his sister, Dorion knows that they must act soon if they are to take Eden out. He decides to give The Legacy one more afternoon of rest before they awake and strike him during the evening hours. He tells everyone to meet by the old café on the roof of Rowena’s Market so that they can leave together.


As Dorion sits on the roof he can see his sister off to the side talking to Jai with major concerns about them striking Eden now. It would seem that the two of them were already working on a plan should things go south. For now, Dorion wanted to focus on himself and what kind of magick he would use against his father. As Dorion thinks to himself Shiva is the first to arrive and stands nearby him the two of them only acknowledging each other by making small head nods. Soon after Ruby, Ljrn and, Trunks would come to the rooftop as well. As they all stood in momentary silence Shiva felt that it was the right time to break the ice.


Shiva expresses that she can’t believe that the moment has finally come to face Eden…the group has spent nearly spent half an Epoch preparing to fight Eden. At this moment Shiva also reflected on those who were lost a long the way which only caused Dorion’s want to destroy Eden sooner. Dorion rose to his feet and asked if anyone else needed anything before they went off to fight Eden or if there were concerns among them.


As Dorion posed his question he could hear an excited gasp from off to the right which caused everyone else in The Legacy to look as well. As the shadow came into view it was Master Akane coming to join the others. Zena’s eyes lit up in excitement as she leaped into his arms which prompted a small laugh from Jai. This brought a smile to Dorion’s face to see the joy come over his sister; she looked up to Yue as a father figure more than their own father.



The Legacy acknowledges his presence, and he asks if the group is ready to face them. A few of the members feel that they are ready while on the other hand, Ruby expresses that she is not. Ruby is worried that she does not stand a chance against Eden because Yue was so hard on her and if Eden were trained by Yue would she be able to keep up the momentum. Ljrn listens to Ruby’s words and says that if she feels that she is not it is best to stay behind because a hesitation in battle could cost her life and risk the rest of the team. Yue steps in alongside Zena and Jai and decides to comfort Ruby instead. Yue explains how he and the others have been in close contact watching over the group and wanting to help from the outside anyway they could, so they devised a plan together.
Yue, Zena, and Jai felt that just by the initial training the group was ready to face Eden. However, with Death by his side who was to say if she had a plan of her own waiting in the distance. The three of them felt that if they were able to create a little backup it would be nice for them to face Eden head-on. Zena researched into crystals to see if she could create something that they once used in their homeworld. With much research and practice in Fairytail’s crafting room, she was able to make something possible. Yue, Zena, and Jai had made crystals for the people in The Legacy they felt a close bond (or saw themselves in) with.


Yue created crystal for Ljrn because not only were they the eldest of the group he saw so much magick in her future that it only felt proper for him to aide her. Zena made a crystal for Ruby as she was interested in learning more about her void magick and being a creature of the void. Jai teasingly chooses Trunks to aid because he felt a personal connection through Leric through him. As each of them received a crystal Ruby pointed out that Shiva or Dorion did not receive one. Yue explained that due to the nature of the battle if Dorion was in grave danger any of them would rush in because he is blood and if Shiva were needed help on the battlefield she could tap into her primal power. Once everyone received their crystal Dorion knew it was time for everyone to get going to The Crystal Tower.


To make the travel easier, Dorion loaded up Azul’s carriage and made room for everyone else. For now, Yue, Jai, and Zena would go out to their hiding spot waiting for their moment to come through. As they left Mor Dhona, Shiva tried to recall her life as “Selene” and from what her memory could allow she explained how different the land had become. Trunks sighed and reminded Shiva that every town at this current state was either different or desolate. Ruby tries to keep the conversation strong and reminding Shiva that some places may be like this for 100 years or so especially with the damage that was done. Dorion sighs as he smokes his cigarette hoping that one day Shiva’s vision can come true.


Ruby furthers her feelings about the world and if the world were to return to normal, she fears she would be seen as a monster due to the creature she is. Shiva disagrees with Ruby’s Statement and says that she is here fighting alongside The Legacy and if there was one person who deserved a right to go where she please it would be her. She was showing the world that even though she was from another land and another kind, she would show the survivors that she helped make it possible. Dorion sighed and turned to Ruby that should that day come, he would fight for her because, he knew deep in his heart he would have to face the same price for what was done.


The grounds were quiet which concerned The Legacy, so they decided to proceed with further caution. Dorion hid Azul and the carriage off to the side before radioing Yue where she was should he need to get her out of there. The ground was cold and the monsters that generally guarded this area were nowhere in sight. Dorion reminded everyone to stay close as they got closer to the doorway.


Upon arrival to the gate that protected the Crystal Tower, there were a ton of runes on the door. As Dorion touched them they stung his hand and Shiva went over to take a look at them. Upon observing them she could sense heavy magick and it seemed to look like runes from the void. Upon hearing that Ruby’s ears perked up and she knew what was needed to be done. As Ruby’s ears perked up Trunks too sensed what she was thinking and the two of them combined their magick to make something possible. Trunks asked for everyone to stand back a bit to see what they could make possible.


Shiva unsure of what was happening stood with Ljrn and Dorion as she saw a smirk come across Dorion’s face. Shiva asked why Dorion was so happy and he looked to her and just stated simply that they were about to make the impossible…possible.

Ruby closed her eyes and began to pray. She searched through the darkness for something powerful; something...familiar. As her mind filled with visions, she could see a creature worth of this moment and with the help of Trunks, she was about to summon something that was tied to these lands long ago.  Ruby began to draw various sigils in the air; each one leaving behind a glowing purple trail as it levitated. The ten sigils she drew before began to create a circle. The lines rotated in place as they connected to one another. As Ruby's eyes opened, she told the fiend from within that it was time to play. Emerging from the void came a Behemoth and Ruby simply hopped onto the back of it.

Dorion bears his fangs at seeing such a beast and was happy that Ruby could make some of this possible while Shiva gasped in shock. The Behemoth began to growl and shoot a fiery flame towards the gate causing the ruins to tremble and fade. The power of the creature was immense and at this moment the group felt that it was now a matter of time before they ran into The Red Veil.


As soon as The Legacy made their way into the Gate the crystal tower loomed ahead. However, upon the opening of the gate, a coopery smell filled the air. Dorion already feeling a desire for battle, was taken back a moment by the smell of blood. Although he had already had his fill the smell of what he desired most filled his nose. He closed his eyes trying to not let the lust for it consume him but for now, he bit hard onto his lip to hide his desire. Shiva’s stomach was slightly weakened by the smell which had Trunks call over to her. She stood alongside him as he wrapped her in his scarf to keep the smell out of her nose for the time being.


Ljrn expressed that the smell did not bother her, and she had been a medic for so long and it was a matter of time before they would run into something like this and Ruby agreed they needed to know what they were in for but, why was the air so strong of Dorion. Even though they were not close to the tower just yet, Dorion assumed that it was due to the fact that Eden may have been feeding to boost his magick for the battle. Dorion suggested for now that he walk first and Ruby walk alongside everyone with her Behemoth in case, they were to be attacked on the way to the Tower. However, the further they walked the only sound that could be heard was their own footsteps and the wind. Dorion kept his eyes peeled as they made their way down the path but the smell of copper grew stronger.


As The Legacy walked further now onto the Eight Sentinels of the Crystal Tower, they were now a witness for something no one expected to see. There were puddles of blood everywhere. Slain body parts of beast-men littered the ground before them; bodies of hyurs, miqote, lalafels, roegadyn, and aura laid before them. It was not just women but men and children as well.  Shiva let out a gasp and Ruby looked over to her calling out for her to not look down. Trunks and Dorion looked into the eyes of the corpses most littered with fear, some even clinging to each other like family. The two of them locked eyes knowing that they were ready to take Eden down once and for all. Dorion eye’s look straight ahead and above where the bridge once stood to the tower, Eden stood tall in attention.


For the very first time, The Legacy stood before Eden. He stood alone with just his weapon by his side and a dark sly smile. He wore a fur jacket adorned with red fabrics and armor, unlike anything they saw before. Dorion walked forward and the man stared deep in the eyes of his father unsure of what to say. Eden eager to speak smiled and thanked the group for delivering his son and Shiva to him. With Shiva and Dorion here he was ready to control them and reign over the lands they stood on. The group would not back down or bend the knee to him which only made him angrier. Dorion swore that he would die before he ever joined his father again which prompted Eden to draw out his weapon. We beckoned to the group to fight him and to take him head-on.



Trunks lead the battle as he twirled his gun as walked unwaveringly to Eden's face to face. Staring upon him with cold eyes and a death grip on his rifle and fires a round directly at the man. He falls back a bit surprised by Trunks' move as he raises his weapon to try and strike Trunks for shooting him. Seeing that Eden was going after Trunk Ljrn decided to step in and strike. Ljrn knocked her staff against the stones on the ground as water began flowing up her body like living vines.  But instead of water appearing before everyone Ljrn forms a series of stones.  As she tapped her staff a second time she sent a roiling wave of stones towards Eden, cracking the ancient stonework before him. Eden with a long sword shielding him of her magick smiles and sends a series of blows upon her. Seeing Ljrn vulnerable, Trunks placed his hands into his pocket and created a pressurized wind and behind his feet as he darted toward the king and shook off his boots as he jumped up and kneed Eden in his chin, then grabbing his head and headbutting his nose to disorient him. Eden falls back a bit and stumbles from Trunks' blow as he growls that Trunks will regret that mood.


As Eden fell back Ruby was ready to fight the man Yue trained her for, it was time to show Eden what she was made of. Ruby just smiled as she held out one of her hands and drew a single sigil with her fingers. It radiated frost and froze the air around before a large boulder of ice dropped from the sky. The Boulder of Ice Struck Eden which prompted him to rush towards Ruby. Seeing Ruby in danger made the beast in Dorion rage. Dorion rushed forward and struck his father directly in the chest, using the lightning that was surging over his body; leaving Eden to fall to his knees and convulse a bit as he tried to gain his strength. Shiva drew out her staff and ran her hands along with the staff and she took a deep breath and let the air surround her. As the group stood with her a chill came over their bodies. Shiva's hands danced and she created and small ice dagger and sent it directly towards Eden's ribcage reminding Eden that her attack was for Selene; the woman he tried to destroy that still remained within her heart.


Smiling at Shiva Ljrn stepped in once more and went after Eden. Ljrn guided her 'vines' of water to lash out and strike from several angles at once with their razor-like tips to Eden as he felt water rip into him leaving his skin feeling like it was covered in thorns from the "Vines." he grimaced in pain from her attack. In between attacks, Eden tried to plead his case which only caused The Legacy to fight harder against him. With every attack, he hit them with they struck back harder showing that they trained and were prepared for this moment. As Eden tried to mock Trunks, anger set within him, and his garuda-like wings shot out from his back as he piledrives Eden into the dirt. With the blood released from his body, Eden drew a rune onto the ground sending them into a small porter and bringing them into an area within Mor Dhona where Eden could have more of an open advantage against them.


As The Legacy was disoriented by the portal, Eden looked to Ruby and drew his weapon at her pulling her close to him as he cut onto her skin. He took a bite from her wrist only stinging her slightly trying to steal any aether he could from her. Seeing Ruby attacked, Dorion flew forward trying to stop his father, but Eden saw Dorion coming. Eden grabbed a hold of Dorion's throat and began to squeeze tightly into him digging his nails into Dorion's neck as he struck. Shiva rushed to Dorion's aide, but Eden tossed Dorion to the side and grabs a hold of Shiva and pulled her jacket to the side, and placed his hand on where he once stabbed her. Eden smiled as he felt her scar. Shiva tried to push him away as he bared his claws and ran them along her waist from left to right exposing her skin and placing her blood onto his claws. He took a lick of each one and smiled looking at Trunks reminding him that “his maiden” tasted so sweet and that Trunks had yet to have a taste for himself.


Seeing Shiva in danger Ljrn stepped up using her vine-like water magick this time spreading her magick wider and beginning 'spitting' needles of ice at Eden. Eden seeing her attack coming for him decided to grab a hold of his weapon and shot poison right back at her this time causing numbness in her hands. Trunks angered by Eden flew forward only to meet Eden head-on with his sword. Eden decided to do was Trunks did to him by throwing him down onto the ground as the men wrestled against each other. Eden grabbed a hold of Trunks’ hand and aimed them towards Shiva using Trunks’ hand to fire a bullet towards Shiva striking her in her left arm.

While Eden focused on Shiva, Ruby took this time to use her crystal to call for a surprise attack from Zena. Zena skipped onto the battlefield with dark glowing orb-like rings. With tears in her eyes, she held on tightly to her weapon before drawing it at her father. She cries that she is fighting her father in order to honor her brother who died because of him. As Zena fell back from using her magick she watched as the cuts became visible from Eden.


Angered by what Eden made Trunks do he went deep into his mind calling forth a power unlike before. He called onto Zaku’s magick hoping that he could connect to her darkness in order to take Eden down. Somehow Trunks was able to do so, and a dark sword submerged his current weapon and wrapping his body in armor like gear. With one swift move Trunks flew forward opening multiple wounds on Eden’s body. Dorion felt a surge of energy come over him and his wings shot out from his back. Dorion pushed forward and landed upon his father, his digging his claws into his father’s legs making it hard for him to stand; the rage overcoming him reminded Eden that this was for E'ra, Dean, Delgado, Jayne, and any other life he had tried to claim in Eorzea. With Shiva helping to hold Eden down Ljrn felt that it was time for her to also use her crystal and call upon Yue.

Yue touched the back of Ljrn’s shoulder and smiled saying how she was wise and he would follow suit to her attacks. Yue's hands ran along the side of his weapon and as he took his weapon out of the harness, a cold cool air surrounded the party. He mumbled something that sound like the Hingan language as his blade turned to ice. He winked at Ljrn and then drew from her magick and created a wave of water and ice to strike Eden's Body. Eden growled in pain as he was beginning to grow weaker from each move they made.


Trunks stepped toward Ruby rummaged through her void magick and was able to create a powerful force to knock Eden on his feet as he begged for them to not kill him. He tried to convince Ruby that he knew things about Death that she would want to control but, Ruby would not take anything from him and aided Trunks with magick to keep Eden down. Eden was beginning to lose his chance against the group and Ruby called to Dorion to finish Eden off. Dorion nodded and tried to channel magick to overcome his weapon for the final attack against his father. Each member of The Legacy decided to try and channel what they could to Dorion. As magick transformed his weapon Dorion watched as Eden fell to his knees leaving Eden an open target for Dorion’s staff to strike him directly into the heart.


Silence came over The Legacy while Dorion stood over his father’s body as the man bled out before them. Unsure of what to do or say the group stood silent. In the moment of silence, Dorion’s linkpearl began to ring but dazed by killing his own father he could not respond. Shiva tried to reach over to him however, Ljrn and Ruby told her to stand back for now. Yue turned to the group and said that he would go to Jai and Azul while they waited for further instructions on their next move.

Dorion’s linkpearl continue to ring and as he ripped it out his ear Trunks took it upon himself to answer on Dorion’s behalf. Trunks answered the linkpearl with colorful language which prompted Ljrn to lecture him but the two of them could hear a confused female voice on the other end asking for Dorion and wondering who was answering his linkpearl? As Trunks listened to the disoriented voice he had an assumption that it could be Luminara at home. He could hear a struggle followed by Leric’s voice taking over the linkpearl.

Leric was wounded and Death had come to Fairytail and woke Jayne up. He needed everyone back at the guild house to see what they could do. Trunks walked over to Dorion and told him what he had heard and even though the woman he loved was awake Dorion remained silent. Zena grabbed her brother’s hand and looked to Ruby in aide to get them home. Ruby knew what Zena was referring to and began to create a void portal that would take them home to Fairytail. For now, the group had no idea what they were about to see but, one thing was for certain
The Warrior of Light was awake.
