Episode 1: Fates Align

Today the journey began for our band of heroes; they met with the infamous E'ra. Each member met with E'ra in a place unknown...aware of her intentions for them. Seeing that our heroes' key to living was survival, she each gave them the same task...to seek supplies hidden in the Church of Saint Adama-Landama.



In Eastern Thanalan, a storm raged, water raining down on the tough terrain around. The Church had seen better days as it seemed a fight took place moments before. The ground was riddled in bullet cases, torn shrubbery, and a few bodies laid across the grounds. Inside the church was Crimson Castellano...resting his eyes for a few moments. He was resting after fighting off what seemed to be Red Veil Cult members, it seemed to take a bit out of him. For the time being the rain soothed him of what ailed him. However, he was unaware that outside the door were those sent by E'ra.


The first to arrive was a Male Miqo'te on a motorcycle...trailed by two Au Ra women (one Raen, one Xaela) The Miqo'te male scoured the lands seeing if there was anyone in range, while the two females had other intentions. One of the Au Ra women snuck up to the Miqo'te male's bike looking for any edible food hidden in his saddlebags; the other cautiously looking on hoping to enter the church.


As the male continued to approach the church it would seem two more descendants were coming to the church, a highlander male and a male Hrothgar.


As the male tried to approach the church carefully, the Au Ra scouring for food decided to make a diversion. She found a dead body torn apart by the battle and claimed that it was her husband, "John" and that he needed urgent help. The male Miqo'te watched as the woman made a scene alerting Crimson that there were others outside of the church. Crimson clenched his weapon preparing in the wonder of what was to come.


Crimson did not rush to the aide of the woman which seemed to irritate her so she tossed the remains of "John" to splatter on the door. Unamused by her actions, the Miqo'te drew his gun and kicked down the door. This alerted the other Au Ra female and Hrogthar to follow their lead as they were soon met face to face with Crimson inside. The Highlander stood watching for the time being.


Both Males accended inside as Crimson raised his blade to them. Both women followed behind causing Crimson to back up for defense readying his blade should he need to fight them.  For a brief moment, it was a staredown before the Au Ra woman feverishly asked Crimson if he had food and the supplies she was looking for. The two men that joined before her seemed to be in agreeance that they too were looking for the food and supplies that were promised here.


Crimson grew angrier as he tried to find out if they were cultists or actual survivors of the current calamity. As he tried to get names from them the men and woman would not budge causing Crimson to grow with anger. He pulled down his mask revealing a set of fangs and as his eyes grew brighter, glowing as if they were Au Ra eyes. It seemed to catch the group off guard as they began to back away. The Highlander outside continued to watch for the being.


The quiet Au Ra female decided to reveal to Crimson that she was no threat. With a small notebook in hand, she let him know her name was, Zakuro, and that she was sent by E'ra instead. As the female revealed why she came here the others also let Crimson know that they too ran into E'ra in hopes for safety. A grin came over Crimson as he knew that code name; they were here because they were part of a movement. A movement to restore Eorzea to its former glory, however, they didn't know that just yet. As Crimson opened his mouth to tell them why he was there it seemed another threat stood outside the door, the Highlander Male from earlier ascended onto the church which seemed to be a gang of men.


Crimson quickly withdrew his weapon once more telling those around him in to fall behind him. The group followed command as they decided this man was a threat and that he must be stopped. The man and his henchmen did their best to fight the group, however, they were no match for them. Crimson approached the man with anger and compelled him with his magic to find out if he was evil. It turns out the gentleman was just trying to survive like the rest of them and that the men they had killed were merely people he sought shelter within these hard times. He was unaware of the group was a threat and so he acted out of haste and regretted his decision; it was never his attention for the men now dead to fall in battle.


Crimson feeling guilty among the group of survivors apologizes to the man and asks for him to join him and the others to find safety elsewhere. The Highlander declines and goes off into the distance. Crimson and the others band together for the time being and gather the bodies of the fallen men to give them a proper send-off; Crimson also warns the group to not bury the cult members on the ground. He tells the group they deserve to rot slowly for what they have down to Hydaelyn.

After a short time of getting to know each other the group figures out what to do next to move forward. Crimson asks the group to stick together as he descends behind the church. The Hrogthar gives a proper introduction as Melo, while the soldier identifies himself as Trunks. The excitable and ravenous Au Ra female obsessed with food shares that her name is Tuya. Crimson makes his way back hearing the introductions and decides to reveal to the group that his real name is Dorion. When asked by Melo and Trunks why he called himself Crimson prior, he told the men that it would be a story for another time.

He introduces the group to a yellow Chocobo named Azul. He chuckles and says that although her name means blue she is an excitable happy Chocobo that will bring them to a safe place. The group agrees to follow and they hop around the Chocobo-driven carriage.


As they travel the lands the ground is littered with bodies and remains of what was once a land of beautiful creatures. Plumes of smoke met them along the way causing many of the group members to feel unamused. Dorion reassures everyone that it would just be a bit longer until they could come to a resting spot before they reached their final destination. After many hours of travel, the group ascends into a small village in Western Thanalan.


Upon arrival in the small village, Melo is overcome with emotion as this was once a village he occupied. He tells the group that he grew up here and seeing the destruction of the place he knew caused him sadness. He tells the group he is going to blow off some steam to try and gather his thoughts. Dorion agrees and climbs to a tower to watch over Melo.


As they ascend to a top of a tower Trunks tells Dorion he was sorry for his rational behavior and that he is of many years so a young group like this is a lot for him to take in right now. Dorion nods and tells Trunks that he understands, he knows that everyone here came from different walks of life and that this was a lot to take in. While the two men talked, it seems that Tuya had found a skull she has named "Charlie" and she tries to play a common Au Ra game with Zakuro. Zakuro is shy by Tuya's actions and continues to kick her feet into the sands below.


As Dorion and Trunks Climb down the tower, they see that Melo is making his way back to the group once more. As the three men meet, a gun is drawn by a female Miqo'te that has come out from nowhere. Dorion tries to calm the woman and tell her that he and his group are no threat to her. She seems unamused by him and continues to question his character. Dorion sighs and uses his magic once more to compel asking her what she truly desires.


She tells Dorion that she seeks safety peace and shelter. Dorion nods and tells the woman to join him and the others as they are not too far from where they shall seek sanctuary. Once compelled by Dorion the woman agrees quickly and joins them as they go back onto the Chocobo Carriage. Dorion tells the group that they are not too far from The Goblet and that they will be safe soon.

The group of travelers begins to question Dorion's intent on bringing them to The Goblet. For as long as they have known The Goblet has been unoccupied for more than three moons as the calamity first affected the common living areas of those who lived in Eorzea. Dorion continues to remind the group to trust him and to follow him.


After traveling through the rubble Dorion takes them down a narrow path suddenly revealing an empty piece of land. The group complains as they feel tricked by his moves. Dorion runs his fingers along with his rapier casting light over him as a series of ley lines touch the ground. Dorion reappears in front of them in a mage cloak chanting an incantation. As he continues the incantation everyone in the group feels a sense of safety as a large mansion appears in front of them.

"Welcome to Fairytail," Dorion smiles, "Your future awaits behind these walls."
