Episode 17: Heart & Home

After a long battle in Thal's Respite, Famine was captured within an Auracite by The Legacy. After defeating Famine it would seem that the group was able to recover the body of Jayne Luminara. Upon the retrieval of her body, The Legacy called upon Dr. Leric Winters to see if she was able to be saved. In the main hall of Fairytail Shiva was found sitting on the performance stage lost in her thoughts. She watched over as Tuya rested nearby on a couch and Trunks seemed to be hanging around the bar. Shiva often found herself watching his every move now as something excited her the moment she saw him. She couldn’t express what it was yet because it was a new feeling to her. Near the bar, Shiva could also see Zakuro sneaking in a quick meal from the pantry which made her smile. A few moments later Tarno Shodai returned to Fairytail and sat by the bar, still as calm can be. He was lost in his own thoughts, replaying the events that have led to this point and his journey with Zena. Shiva sees that Tarno has returned and rushes over to speak with him.


Trunks and Shiva seem very thankful for what Tarno and Zena were able to discover. Shiva explains how she was impressed by Tarno’s skills in using the Red Veil’s way of tracking and also looking out for the young Zena. Trunks agrees and explains how it was a good plan for them to act as they did. A kind smile comes across Tarno’s face as he is happy that he was able to track Famine as he did. It wasn’t an easy task for the man but he did his best to make it possible. Shiva expresses how it was hard for Dorion to keep quiet but he knew their mission was hard and that they did what they had to to survive and stay safe. Since Dorion was away in the infirmary with Jayne and Leric Trunks lets Tarno know that Dorion wanted to thank him but at the moment he was attending to the injured. Tarno understands and knows that having the Warrior of Light back was something they needed to attend to first.


As The Legacy catches up with each other it seems that Tuya has awakened from her rest however, she looks a bit different than she has before. Tuya had a way with recovery however this time her disguise turned her into a miqo'te. As the group looks on in surprise at Tuya’s new look Zakuro puts her hands on either side of her head and wiggles them like Miqo'te ears, as her own way of describing Tuya's new look. This somehow prompts Tuya to look on in surprise. Although some of The Legacy's members looked on in shock, Shiva seems to be the most excited by it. Shiva knew that even if it was a disguise it was still her friend under there. Tuya then gets filled in on the conversation at hand which was the battle against Famine. Shiva continues to tell Tarno of their battle. Shiva tells Tarno how grateful she was to Zakuro. Zakuro and Tuya helped create a plan that ensured everyone's safety and if it wasn’t for their skills the battle would have been hard. Tarno looks at the two women and commends them for their hard work.


As The Legacy continues their conversations Trunks expresses how it has been a few hours since their return and he would like to check in on Dr. Winters and Dorion. He expresses how they should maybe take some time as a group to gather information downstairs in the living quarters. A bit cautious of the sensitive topic Shiva agrees and slowly follows behind Trunks. This also causes the remaining members to go downstairs. At first Shiva is afraid to bother Dr. Winters and Dorion because she felt that it may not be the right time to just barge in. Tarno agrees and excuses himself in one of the bedrooms to change out of his gear. Tuya on the other hand had her focus on a fish tank nearby as she wanted something to snack on while she waited ongoing into the infirmary. Shiva tried to quietly warn Tuya to not disturb those in the infirmary but, it seems that Dorion was already on his way out as the door to the infirmary opened.


Dorion smiles and greets the rest of the group as he sees that everyone is together again. Dorion also notices Tarno coming out of one of the personal chambers. Dorion thanks Tarno now that he has the opportunity to do so and mentions how grateful he was for looking after his sister. Trunks decide to ask the question that no one else in the room is asking and question’s Luminara’s health. Dorion takes a deep breath and suggests that talking with Dr. Winters may be the best option right now. The Legacy decides to gather up and head into the infirmary.


The Legacy enters the infirmary which prompts Leric to emerge from the curtain. Tired but determined, Leric greets them kindly and Trunks asks how Luminara is doing. Leric explains that it's going to take a lot for Jayne to come back. Her spirit is weak but her strength is growing. Using the auracite the way that they did they were able to preserve her body but right now it seems that Jayne will be in a long slumber in order to restore her health and her aether. It seems that whatever happened to Luminara was damaging and The Red Veil may still have a hold on her magick and it would take either defeating Eden or Amara to get the power back. This prompts a deep discussion of the Red Veil among the Legacy.


Tarno feels that even though right now there is a lot of emotion and dark feelings towards them they should make smart choices on their next move instead of acting out of rage for what has transpired for so long. Trunks expresses how he wants to act out because he feels that the remaining members of the Veil have been brainwashed by Eden and think that they are serving a cause. Tarno disagrees and as a former member of the Veil, it was just an easy way to survive knowing that they stood with someone powerful. This discussion prompts Leric to step in and say that Tarno was right but they never meant for it to go this far. Eden promised members of the Veil safety in a new world since their shard was dying fast. It was with the corruption of the apocalyptic sisters that Eden’s original goal had changed.


The discussion of Eden seems to put Shiva in a state of panic as she is found disassociating from the situation. Leric explains how right now if they take Eden out it is easy access to fighting Amara, The Sister of Death. Dorion agrees with the statement and explains how the remaining members of the Veil would die if Eden falls. From what Zena has been gathering intel explains that if Eden falls the remaining cult members will die off one by one as they would be afraid to be convicted and face trial should society come back together someday. This prompts the group to question why would they focus on one man while Death is scarier to most.



As the men of the Legacy go deep into the topic of Eden and Amara it seems that Shiva is disassociating more and Leric points out to the group the situation. As Trunks grabs a hold of Shiva, she shoots up and gasps in fear. She tells Trunks and the others her interactions with Eden when she was “Selene” and how facing him again would be hard but she knows that it would be something that she would have to overcome. Dorion explains that it will not be an easy task which is why we must track him. Leric suggests that for now, he must attend to Jayne and that they should discuss as a group what they should do next. The Legacy leaves the infirmary and heads to the living room. Before heading to the living room it seems that Zakuro and Tuya have a secret conversation. Zakuro writes to Tuya that they rescued the warrior of light. If Jayne is back and is the one that gave them their powers, what are they here for now; if saving her is supposed to make everything better, then why does it sound like it is going to get crazier from here? Zakuro isn’t sure about this all and wants to leave The Legacy and Fairytail. Tuya agrees but wants to give them a chance before she makes her choice. The two decide to join everyone else in the living room.


Dorion gathers in the living room and calls for Trunks and the others so that they may discuss more Eden and Death. At first, Shiva is reluctant to join but Trunks guides her to stay close to him. For the time being, she stays silent but sits with him willing to listen. Dorion explains that although Leric spoke some harsh facts in the infirmary it was only out of caution. Unlike most, Leric used to work side by side with his mentor and he is aware of all things that Eden can do. Before Dorion’s birth, Leric was sworn to watch over the firstborn so his mentor and Eden trained him to be a good protector. This is why Leric was so focused on making sure everyone knew what they were getting into. Trunks understands that Leric comes from a military-like background however, wished that he would take it a bit easier as some members of this party have seen a lot. Somehow this prompts Shiva to gain some strength to speak.


Shiva explains that what they are about to face is evil at its finest. Shiva knows what he is capable of and although they should fear Death...what Eden can do is equally as evil. Dorion agrees with Shiva as has mentioned Eden has a way with elements. Dorion’s father is a good summoner and there is no doubt in Dorion’s mind that he will focus on each member of the Legacy. Zakuro decides to write in her notebook and ask about Jayne. Zakuro asks, What about the hero they just rescued, wouldn’t it be wise to have her aide in the battle. Dorion understands Zakuro’s concern but Dorion explains that Jayne's power is limited and how she had given The Legacy what aether she had for them to hold the weapons that they do. Although Jayne is unconscious right now it would be weeks to months according to Leric’s report for Jayne to return to battle.


Tuya asks if they gave their powers back to Jayne could Jayne return to battle faster however, Shiva explains that even if it were possible there is no way Jayne could absorb it back in that and her body needs time to recover on its own. Zakuro doesn't bother hiding that she doesn't like these answers but, she does not challenge them either.  She simply closes her journal again to indicate she's got nothing to say at the moment. A silence overcomes the room as it seems that once more The Legacy is seeing differences on what to do next. As they sit in silence their linkpearls go off indicating an important message is coming through. Zena calls with a very important message.


Zena tells the group that she had tracked their Father has been tracked down and he is currently located at The Crystal Tower. Dorion and Trunks both have an idea as to the power the tower holds and what Eden may be up to. Tarno suggests that they gather quickly and begin the journey to the tower to try and stop him. Zakuro opens her journal and expresses that they should wait for Jayne to get better. Although Dorion would love to see Jayne join them again he tells her that Jayne is no longer up for discussion and she will remain resting.


Zakuro feels that she is tired of fighting for something and if The Legacy wants to risk their lives while Jayne remains unconscious she does not want to go on any further. Tuya gathers her belongings and slings a bag over her shoulder and places something wrapped in fabric on the bed. She then looks over to Zakuro and seems to have also made her mind about The Legacy. Zakuro walks with Tuya, glad to feel the familiar comfort knowing that they had both decided it was time to move on. Although the group has their difference the task at hand was to head to Crystal Tower. At this moment some would move on to the tower while others would take on a new path. Whatever may be will happen but, what was known was that this was just the beginning of something else for The Legacy.
